$100 BRANDact offer
EXTENDED UNTIL FEBRUARY 15th! A
Conversation with Larry Silverberg, Part
Two

Hi [[FirstName]]
TIME IS FLYING! The $100 BRANDact deal
ends FOREVER on February
15th!
Actors continually phone
me to say that many, many ShowBiz marketing
coaches are now stressing the importance
of branding. And they're so glad to have
found a branding solution just for actors at such an
affordable price. So don't
miss out . . . ONLY NINE DAYS TO
GO!
In this issue, I'm
sending you the second part of my
conversation with Larry Silverberg . Back
in December, Larry was kind enough to e-mail me and thank me for my
kind words about his books. He also told me he appreciated my
insight and how much I care about being of service. He suggested we connect. So I picked up the
phone and found a passionate, humble actor's advocate on the
other line. I was particularly struck by his fearless journey
and deep spirituality. So I suggested an
interview. I hope you'll be as
inspired reading our conversation as I was writing it!
If you missed the first part, go here
to read it.
Oh, and do me . . . and
yourself . . . a favor. Go here to read some great things actors have to say
about Act Intuitive.

Grab
BRANDact Branding for Actors for only $100 until February
15th
Once actors name and claim their talent,
their careers soar. Actors who have taken my
BRANDact workshops have gone on to star in
award-winning Indies, BBC miniseries and TV
episodics.
I stopped doing workshops early last
year. And for a long
time offered my individual branding package for the workshop
price . . . $100. But I
just can't do that anymore! Because branding
can be an intense and lengthy personal process. And it may take a
few hours on the phone or in person
for us to arrive at a branding
statement. In the workshop, it took a whole day.
So,
unfortunately, I MUST raise the cost for this career-making
process to $197 beginning February 16th.
But right now you can get it for $100 FOR A LIMITED
TIME ONLY! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE LAST TIME
I CAN OFFER BRANDact FOR THIS
LOW,
LOW PRICE.
You don't have to
begin right away. As long as you call me
at 323-225-9850 or e-mail me at
jill@actingintuitive.com and pay the $100 fee by February
15th. Once I get payment by credit card or check, I'll
e-mail you the complete version of 7 Steps to BRANDact
You to get the process started.
You can finish it whenever you want . . . there's no time
limit. So call or e-mail me today! Or
go here to find out more.
Or if you'd
like to do the home branding course instead, you can get
the entire BRANDact do-it-yourself acting success system for
$39. Go here to get it now at the pre-internet price.
Also, check out
the other things I do . . .
intuitive sessions and individual acting coaching.

A Conversation with Larry
Silverberg
Part Two
|
 |
In
Part Two, Larry talks about how the famous Meisner workbooks
came about, his inspiring teen classes and his greatest
passions.
Jill: How did the
four Sanford Meisner Approach
workbooks come about?
Larry: The last
thing I thought I could do was write a book. I'm not adept at
English and language. But I taught my first class in Seattle
and this guy in my class turned out to be Stewart Stern, one
of the great screenwriters of our time. He wrote Rebel
Without a Cause. He told me,
"you have to write a book about how you're doing this work". I
tried the best I could to talk him into writing it for me but
he said, "you can do it". I knew how to talk to students, so I
began to write the book as if I were teaching them. People now
tell me that they feel like I'm talking intimately just to
them.
I wrote half the book and
sent it to Sandy. Sandy had previously paid other publishers
not to publish books that other people had written about the
Meisner process. So I was thrilled when he gave me permission
to publish it. I also sent it to my friend, Horton Foote, who
has become a great mentor to me. He loved it and sent it on to
his publisher, Smith and Kraus, who published it.
I wrote the four Meisner
workbooks and then wrote Loving to Audition, which is
really a book on text interpretation. I've now done nine books
and six main acting books.
One of the reasons I
published the books was because students I worked with who
said they knew the work had little understanding of Meisner. I
really wanted to help teachers understand the process in its
entirety . . . to help those who were using the Meisner work
but not really understanding it.
Jill: How did your
life change when they were published?
Larry: I got
hundreds and hundreds of e-mails with very intimate personal
stories about how the books were helping actors and teachers
in their work. That was huge for me . . . that I was making a
difference in people's lives. I was also invited to teach all
over the world. And it's very exciting to walk into a class in
Berlin and see that actors have my books and they're all
highlighted. That people are thinking about the things I've
written and digesting them and using them. Now my books are
being translated into French and Romanian.
Jill: How did the
teen workshops come about?
Larry: It started
with my daughter, who is now 18. In high school she
unfortunately had the worst of the worst when it comes to
acting teachers, who destroyed her enthusiasm and her spirit.
I was so angry that I didn't know what else to do but write a
book.
So I wrote The Seven
Simple Truths of Acting for the Teen Actor. I felt a very
strong need to help these kids who were working with teachers
who weren't helping them learn what the craft is really about.
Through the book, I've
been invited to teach my "Teen Actor Master Class" all over
the country. I'm also currently writing a book called
Meisner for Teens.
I've worked with
thousands of teens. And found that there are wonderful
teachers out there. And they're under immense pressures that
make it almost impossible for them to teach. They're mostly
not supported by the school systems. And they're not given the
time to work with the kids.
Jill: What's your
greatest passion where acting/teaching is concerned?
Larry: Going into
the unknown with other human beings to that place where
creation actually happens. Last summer, I did People Are
Living There by Athol Fugard off Broadway. Suzanne
Shepherd directed and I co-starred with O'Mara Leary, who's an
extraordinary actress. It was a joyous coming together of a
group of theatre people. And I knew O'Mara and I could go
anywhere on stage and she would always be there. Having people
to work with where you can take these kinds of risks; it's so
much fun!
I still act, but when I
do I become unavailable to everybody because I have to become
totally obsessed with what I'm doing. So I do it less because
it takes me away from my family too much.
Creation is always a
miracle and a surprise. It always lifts us beyond the
limitations we place on ourselves. God planted in us this
incredible capacity to be great and we limit ourselves in so
many ways. But working as an actor and as a teacher, I'm
lifted beyond these limitations. Sharing this with other
people is a wonderful experience.
Jill: Do you think
you're living the life you were meant to live?
Larry: Every day I
thank god for the incredible blessings I've been given beyond
anything I could imagine. I have a wonderful wife and kids and
am blessed to spend my life doing what I love doing. Teaching
never gets old for me; I am so turned on by leading students
through this work. The same with acting.
