I've been blessed. I'm multi-talented. I'm also intuitive. And I must say that these two qualities have, to a great extent, shaped my life.
I started my acting career as a dreidel in a temple play. The acting bug bit then and there, but I did very little until I quietly switched my major to Theatre while at UCLA. My parents were outraged. Which thrilled the rebel part of me. It was the 60s, a rebellious time. By my early twenties, I had starred off-Broadway in "Carousel" and was offered another off-Broadway musical part in a play that became a runaway hit. But instead I returned to California to finish college. I starred in several productions at UCLA, had a play written about me, and then quit acting for five years and tried to live a normal married life.
But, at 26, the performing bug bit once more. And the marriage dissolved. I began to study singing, and then enrolled at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute.
I worked with and for Lee and was affiliated with the Actor's Studio on and off for ten years. I was also blessed to train with such illustrious teachers as Uta Hagen, Herbert Berghof, Sanford Meisner, Peggy Feury, Viola Spolin and Shelly Winters. Shelly Winters once told me, "you're fantastically talented, but you're overtrained.Go out and get a job." So I did. I became a successful singer and actress. I toured throughout the United States and sang in Japan. I did a few sitcom pilots, movies and TV shows and tons of stage plays and musicals. I was also an original Groundling. But using theatre to affect change in children's lives was the greatest performing experience of my life. I spent three years with the Burbage Theatre for Children as an actor, acting teacher, and arts administrator.
My other passion in life besides acting has been to understand the nature of my personal spirituality. After spending my childhood as a cursory Jew, an experience which included my triumph as a dreidel, I began to look for deeper meaning in my life. I studied many types of spirituality from Native American shamanism to Indian mysticism. All my searching has led me to a spiritual path as a medical intuitive and spiritual healer.
When the desire to perform waned and I became an acting coach, my spirituality and artistic expression met in a unique way. I can see where actors have emotional or energy blocks that keep them from fully expressing their craft. And I intuit ways to easily remove these blocks. I integrate my power as an intuitive into my acting coaching to help you realize your own talents both as an actor and as an intuitive individual. I help you bring your unique talents to the world.
